Miki Matsuda is a multidisciplinary creative designer from São Paulo, Brazil. Raised by a Japanese immigrant family, predominantly women, her work has been greatly influenced by this upbringing. She explores and translates materials traditionally considered feminine, such as underwear, pajamas and knitwear, aiming to provide a fresh perspective on them. The feeling of being an outsider and the struggle of not fitting into predetermined spaces are recurring themes in her work. As a Japanese-Brazilian designer, she aims to capture the tension between her dual heritages through the use of asymmetric shapes and the combination of unconventional fabrics, which, when merged, complement and harmonize with each other.
